Forest fire prevention in Catalonia

Thanks to the XCN (Network for Nature Conservation), we were one of the five projects selected to receive the proceeds from the Vienna establishments' rounding campaign: Penny by penny, we prevent fires.

Did you know that more than half of the surface area of ​​Catalonia is forest land but that in many forests no type of management is carried out?

It is a reality that, together with the increase in temperatures and the decrease in precipitation, means an increase in the risk of fire in these spaces.

It is necessary to promote prevention strategies and one of them is the use of herds for grazing that control the growth and structure of vegetation, fuel in the spread of fires.

The money raised will be dedicated to projects with herds of 5 non-profit entities in 5 areas of Catalonia classified as high-risk fire danger areas: Garraf, Ribera d'Ebre, Alt Camp, Les Garrigues and Serra de Llaberia.
