To the Miranda Foundation We are constantly working to improve the quality of life of our horses in freedom, combining respect for the natural environment with technological innovation. Recently, we have taken another step in the management and monitoring of our herds in the mountains.

Geolocation tests

We have started with a new geolocation system where our horse groups graze. With the aim of ensuring optimal monitoring of the movements and well-being of the horses in large mountain areas, we have had the collaboration of the Marina Prats de Sigh Technologies and their luxury advice.

We use lightweight tracking devices (branded invoxia, with technology SIGFOX) protected by special covers designed and manufactured expressly for the foundation under the seal of Sigh TechnologiesWith the configuration of the application and the definition of specific alerts prior to their installation, we can know the location of the horses in areas of complex orography, detect anomalies and have them better identified and protected at all times.

Anti-fly masks

Apart from technology, the summer season brings us both inevitable and annoying companions: flies and horseflies. To protect their health and avoid uncomfortable bites —especially in the face and eye area—, we have been placing protective masks on the horses.

These masks allow them to see, eat and enjoy the pasture as normal, while keeping them free from discomfort. In addition, we take advantage of each meeting with the herd to review the condition of the pastures, which this year have a lot of litter and require special attention to prevent fire risks during the summer.
