DUKE CENSUS IN THE COLLEGATS-BOUMORT NATURAL AREA

Within the framework of GISKA Project, promoted by the Miranda Foundation, we are organizing a census of eagle owls (Bubo bubo) in the Collegats-Boumort Natural Area, with the aim of better understanding the distribution of this emblematic species, the large nocturnal bird of prey, currently in decline, and evaluating the state of its population in the territory.
Prospecting area
The census will be carried out between Collegats (Font de la Figuereta) and Roca Foradada (Pobla de Segur).
Date
- Saturday, December 20, 2025
Program
- 15:00 p.m. – Reception of participants, formation of groups and explanations about the census methodology. We will meet at Town Hall Square of La Pobla de Segur.
- 16:00 p.m. – Distribution of the groups in the territory. Sunset until one hour later – Conducting the eagle owl census (visual and auditory detection).
Participation
The activity is open to volunteers and people interested in wildlife conservation.
Groups (2-3 people) will be formed and assigned to different census points within the survey area.
